On Wednesday the 4th May, the 3/4 students were fortunate to have the opportunity to travel to Melbourne by train, visit one of three museums (Melbourne, Immigration, or Chinese Museum), and then share a delicious Chinese lunch at The Dragon Boat Restaurant.

What a wonderful day full of new experiences and incredible learning opportunities.

Respond to these questions together as a group:

  1. How would you rate the Melbourne excursion?  Explain the reasons for your answer.
  2. What were the highlights of the day?
  3. Is there anything you would recommend to make this excursion better next year?

  15. The Chinese museum was very interesting because we learnt lot’s of things that we didn’t know before we went to the Chinese museum.

Some of our favourite things that we saw were the Chinese dragon because it is
60 metres long and it took 8 grown men to hold the head. Another one favourite things was how the Empire of China liked women with small feet. So when women were kids if they had enough money they would crush their bones in their toes and bandage it up so they wouldn’t grow.

  16. I rate the Melbourne excursion an 8 out of 10 because it had a lot of information that helped me with my Investigations.
The highlights of the day were eating Chinese and exploring the museum and trying new food.
Next time we should catch a train home instead of a bus.

  17. The Immigration museum was the best museum I have been to. Because there was an interview room a trip room where you can check how long it took for different transport like the refugee boat took 200 and something days. You have to take a bus and plane as well.I think that
they should add a gun area .
